The 17 Sustainable Development Goals:
Goal 13 - Climate Action
’TAKE URGENT ACTION TO COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE AND ITS IMPACTS’.
The goal is to limit the increase in the global average temperature to 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels and strengthen resilience and climate adaptation in vulnerable regions.
At AWILCO, we focus on products and solutions that contribute positively to the general reduction of CO2 emissions, and thereby support the change of user behavior in the direction of ensuring a sustainable effort.
We contribute to the process by continuously searching for and introducing products and solutions that clearly and measurably have a lower climate footprint, compared to previous conventional solutions – we work with manufacturers who are willing to invest in sustainable solutions and thus contribute to the spread of their initiatives in to the greatest extent possible, for example:
New types of rechargeable batteries, where the primary energy carrier is no longer lithium. It could be batteries using salt as the energy carrier, as these batteries are free of rare metals such as lithium, cobalt and manganese.
Electronics are continuously developed with a view to achieving higher degrees of efficiency and the use of fewer components, to achieve a lower environmental footprint at production level – We welcome a harmonization of power supplies/chargers for mobile phones, as these have a significantly longer lifespan than the phone itself.
Fuel cells that run on methanol or hydrogen – the latter, which, in addition to being noise-free for the benefit of the immediate close environment, contributes concretely to reducing the use of diesel on construction sites or in conventional diesel back-up systems. Hydrogen even holds the potential to helps regions to be selfsustained with energy for certain areas, by means of locally produced hydrogen.
The road to climate improvements starts with those who are able and willing – we want to help show the way through early implementation in our geographical focus area, thereby paving the way for the sustainable products and behavior of the future globally.
