PRINCIPLES FOR THE SUPPLIERS TO AWILCO:
CODE OF CONDUCT
AWILCO aim to conduct business in a responsible manner, based on respect
– for human rights, labor rights and corporate social responsibility.
– for a green transition, sustainability and the environment
– to prevent corruption.
The principles below are based on the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact as well as the UN guiding principle on business and human rights, and OECD guidelines for multinational enterprises and recommendations.
HUMAN RIGHTS
Suppliers to AWILCO:
– shall ensure that they respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights.
– Supplier shall ensure that they do not contribute to violations of human rights.
– Supplier shall insure that Child labor is prohibited.
– Take appropriate measures to insure that no child labour occur at suppliers own place of production, or at subcontractors sites.
– Supplier shall actively work to eliminate discrimination.
– prevent discrimination in working life based on ethnicity, disability, religion, age, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, trade union membership or political affiliation. (according to ILO Conventions 100 and 111).
EMPLOYEE RIGHTS
The supplier shall:
– maintain freedom of organization and recognize workers right to collective bargaining (according to ILO Conventions No. 87 and 98)
– support the eradication of all forms of forced labour.
– insure that wage deductions as a disciplinary measure is prohibited.
ANTI-CORRUPTION AND BRIBERY
The suppliers shall:
– oppose all forms of corruption, including extortion and bribery.
– shall comply with applicable laws concerning bribery, corruption, fraud, and any other prohibited business practices.
– shall not offer, promise, or give any improper benefit, favor or incentive to any public official, international organization or other third party.
ENVIRONMENT
The supplier shall
– insure that national and regional environmental laws are followed.
– support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges
– take initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility
– encourage the development and spread of environmentally friendly technologies.
