In November 2021, the Arctic Emergency Response Force held the exercise ‘Arctic Light’ with units from across the Danish Commonwealth and the United States to increase security for Greenlandic and Faroese citizens and others traveling in the arctic area.
In 2017, North Greenland was hit by a major disaster after a landslide and a tsunami of about 10 meters flooded large parts of the village Nuugaatsiaq and washed many of the houses into the sea. Based on this incident, the Arctic Emergency Response Force trained its ability to be deployed in mountain and fjord areas in Greenland.
The exercise involved training participants in rescue operations and containment of environmental disasters as part of a realistic tsunami scenario. In the scenario, several houses in the village of Qoornoq were washed into the sea and more than 32 inhabitants were missing. In addition, all supply and all communication lines were destroyed.
ENTIFFIC AIR PORTABLE kept the participants warm
In connection with the exercise, several of the participating units greatly benefited from ENTIFFIC AIR PORTABLE – a small, highly efficient transportable and compact heater that runs on diesel and can heat eg tents and field hospitals.
The heater is unique in its construction and requires no supply from external power or other forms of connection, which helps to give users a long-desired greater flexibility in relation to heating.
Also provides power for charging
In addition to heating, ENTIFFIC AIR PORTABLE is self-sufficient in power and thus charges the built-in battery during operation, where conventional heaters use electricity instead. It is thus to a certain extent possible to charge other power-consuming electronics such as satellite telephones or to supply smaller LED lamps.
ENTIFFIC AIR PORTABLE runs on diesel and operates in temperatures down to -40 degrees. If the ambient temperature is below -20 degrees Celsius, petroleum is used instead of diesel. Fuel consumption corresponds to other 2kW heaters – namely approx. 0.2 l / h.
Thermostat control is standard, and with the built-in 5 m long cord you can place the temperature sensor where the comfort temperature is to be achieved while the heater is outside.
Security and more time for important tasks
Safe and stable heating offers the staff higher security and often also more time for other and more important tasks. All one has to make sure is that there is fuel in the tank. ENTIFFIC AIR PORTABLE further contributes positively to environmental accounts since you can save operation and maintenance on generators that were only used to supply smaller heaters
With its self-sufficient function, ENTIFFIC AIR PORTABLE is ideal for use in remote locations and in areas without power. It is portable and an obvious choice for first aid and emergency personnel who need life-giving warmth in connection with their mission.
