1st of February 1991 the son of Aksel Willumsen, Niels Willumsen joined the company after completing education and military training.
Cooperation with The FURUKAWA battery company was initiated for NiCd batteries – local assembly of battery packs started, and the company MULTIPLEX was founded to handle the battery business.
Awilco was founded in 1971 by Aksel Willumsen – having interest in electronics, he saw an advertisement for German Frieman & Wolf promoting wall outlet power supplies. The first box was ordered and supplied, and within short time Aksel Willumsen decided quit his day job to concentrate on supplying power supplies to the Nordic OEM’s, as an independent entrepreneur.
Over the years the company grew, more products where added to the portfolio, allways focusing on products which where related or connected with electrical power.
